Licensing Services
Beyond the technical aspects of providing frequency coordination, there are many administrative tasks that must take place to acquire and/or maintain licenses with the FCC. While we bundle some of these services into our basic frequency coordination offering, there are occasions when these services are of use on an individual basis.
FCC Administrative Update
The Federal Communications Commission requires licensees keep their contact information up-to-date in the FCC database by submitting administrative update applications as needed. Updates are applied on a call sign by call sign basis, so a small change in contact information can require many filings. Black & Associates can prepare and file these applications on your behalf.

FCC License Renewal
A Part 101 point-to-point or MAS license is valid for 10 years from the original date of grant. The Federal Communications Commission will contact a licensee prior to expiration of their license to remind them of the need for renewal.
While you don't need a new frequency coordination to renew your license as is, you do have to submit a renewal application and pay FCC fees to complete the process. The renewal filing can be a good opportunity to review the license content and make minor modifications to ensure the license reflects the installation. Major modifications can also be incorporated but will require a new frequency coordination.
Black & Associates is well positioned to handle any of your license renewal needs.

FCC Construction Notification
The final step in licensing a Part 101 point-to-point microwave path is filing a notification confirming construction of the path with the FCC. With few exceptions, construction must occur within 18 months of the associated licenses being granted.
Notification is included in our frequency coordination offering -- just let us know the date you went on-air and we will take care of the filing. For others, if you have been informed of a pending license cancelation due to construction issues, or you notice a discrepancy in your license records, we can help.
